This is a black eye for the Tour of California, in my opinion. Not a great way to start the races’ 2 week journey through California. There is a reward being offered, and I hope that someone finds the bike soon. Like today. I know that that our local racing team (40+ members of the Mad Cat Racing Team) will be watching our trails, roads, and our shop for any sign of the bike.

A few weekends ago we decided to celebrate the end of summer at the San Francisco Zoo. We love going to the zoo, not only because the Lion House is one of the coolest attractions found in any zoo, but because our daughter absolutely loves animals. This time we were out to check out the new grizzly bear exhibit. The grizzlies were very playful, and we spent a fair amount of time watching them eat broccoli and frolic in their pool. (yeah, I said broccoli. Who knew bears ate broccoli?!)
Anyway, we always buy our daughter a ‘key’ that activates a sound recording in front of some of the animal enclosures throughout the zoo. (The keys are animal-shaped and are fun to collect.) The funny thing is that when we approached the bear exhibit, the sound box was actually located out of reach – inside the enclosure! Obviously an oversight (and to be fair, on the safe side of the moat), but shouldn’t someone realize that this might, perhaps, entice someone to jump over the fence, no? Shouldn’t this box be in reach of the children, rather than the bears? Thankfully, the lazy Sun Bears were not interested in our feeble attempts to reach the box, unlike this unlucky woman from another zoo.
